Denmark is recognized for its low levels of corruption and a strong legal framework that effectively combats various forms of crime, including human trafficking, drug trafficking, and organized crime. Despite its successes, the country faces challenges in addressing foreign bribery, with recent reports highlighting insufficient prioritization and resource allocation for prevention and enforcement, although there have been positive developments such as the first foreign bribery conviction in 2019.

Economy

Denmark boasts a robust economy characterized by a modern market system and a strong emphasis on trade, with exports constituting approximately 70% of its GDP in 2024. The country is recognized as one of the most attractive business environments globally, benefiting from political and regulatory stability, a skilled workforce, and a commitment to innovation, particularly in green technologies and pharmaceuticals. While the investment climate remains favorable, challenges such as labor shortages and potential geopolitical risks may impact future growth, prompting the government to implement foreign investment screening mechanisms to safeguard national security.
